Pictured above is Nate Green. He was a varsity athlete at Xavier University, swimming for all four years, plus he was involved in our campus ministry with a heart to reach his teammates for Jesus Christ. He graduated and now he is finishing up his one year internship with Athletes in Action by working at the Olympics as a sports chaplain. I recently got an update from him from London and wanted to pass it on as an example of the impact students can have when they follow the Lord. We are so proud of Nate and pray for many others to follow in his steps.
“For those who may not know, I am presently at the Olympics working as a sports chaplain. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience so far. Growing up I thought I was going to be at the Olympics as an athlete but as it turns out, God’s plan and my plan weren’t the same. While I don’t know the experience of an Olympic athlete, I have loved my experience as a chaplain and I am glad God’s plan was different than mine. I encourage everyone to seek out God’s plan and actually submit to it.”
We praise the Lord for Nate’s availability to respond to God’s plan for his life. We never know how the Lord may use that next conversation with a student on campus to impact the world.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
Thank you so much for joining with us to see the Lord change students lives, like Nate!
