The dream for most college athletes is to be able to continue their career to the next level. The professional stage has been set for Nick’s dreams to come true. Nick Hagglund had been in Mark’s Bible study and a leader in our Athletes in Action ministry ever since he came to Xavier his freshman year. He was constantly sharing his faith and wanting to make a difference for Jesus. Some of his teammates ridiculed him for being a Christian, but his fun-loving personality and overall kindness was hard to put down. Nick’s soccer career at Xavier was fantastic, and after his senior season… he was drafted 10th overall in the MLS Super Draft by the Toronto Football Club. You can praise God for the example Nick has been to his teammates and to all the Xavier athletes. Here is Nick talking about AIA at Xavier and his relationship with Jesus. Nick started in his first MLS game against the Columbus Crew. He had a great game and has started in many more games since then.
Nick has been doing very well in his rookie year of professional soccer. The platform on which Nick can be a witness for Jesus Christ has just gotten huge. Please pray for him that he will keep Jesus Number One in his life. Nick also just got engaged and is planning a December wedding and I am sure he would want prayers for that as well.
