sweet 16 resampled

There was a lot of excitement  in the locker room when the Xavier basketball team reached the Sweet 16.  We were thrilled for the Xavier players as Mark has a good relationship with the team, doing team chapels and meeting individually with the players. Some of them come to our weekly AIA meetings too. So when they rejoiced, we rejoiced with them.

This scene above reminds me about the parable of the Lost Coin.  Jesus tells the story about a woman who sweeps out her house looking for her lost coin and when she finds it she calls her friends and they rejoice together. This is what real “winning” is all about in God’s economy: a lost soul repenting and surrendering his life to Jesus Christ.

“In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”  Luke 15:10

There was a small dilemma with our own view of the Sweet 16 (Arizona vs. Xavier) game.  Our children cheer for Xavier because of the past ten years of our ministry with the Xavier athletes. They also cheer for Arizona because that is where Susie played her college golf.

Thank you for being a part of reaching these young people for Jesus Christ. Pray for our students’ hearts that they would surrender completely to Him.
