“My freshman year was a low moment in my life because I lost both my older cousin and grandma. I was trying to get used to college AND baseball was not going well. It was the mental part of pitching that was a struggle for me. I don’t want to say that I was “sad”, but I was definitely overwhelmed.
A guy on the team named Jeremy, who transferred in, the same year, was a great help to me. He was much further in his walk than I was and served as someone I shared not only baseball with, but my life experiences as well. The way he walked with Jesus was so relatable and it made things easier to understand.
It was my junior year when I told God I needed Him, and I finally decided to turn my life over to Him. Jesus changed my life, in actual fact EVERYTHING CHANGED. I realized what life with Christ could look like and what it meant to be in Him even through adversity. I now can approach my failures and adversity with the awareness that God is with me. I decided to get baptized and make my relationship with God public. I now find God in my day to day journey and work every day to grow deeper in my faith. Now I couldn’t even imagine my life without Christ. Definitely a 180.”
