• Susie: I was appointed as the first female Regional Director in Athletes in Action’s 54 year history. My hope is that the local leaders in my region are heard and their contributions acknowledged. My influence has stretched across the U.S. and women who have previously felt “unseen” are now being seen. My hope is that these women will no longer be side-lined and they will attain positions of leadership. Often these women have years of experience and training and are unfortunately not being encouraged or empowered. I also desire that all of my direct reports feel cared for. Some women have told me that my appointment gives them hope.
The Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Luke 10:2
• Mark was appointed as the Interim (I’ll keep you posted, if this sticks) MPD Coordinator for all of Athletes in Action and is mobilizing laborers to go to the world.
This has been very fulfilling and it reminds me of the days back in South Africa when I was the National Campus Director. I feel like it is a great stewardship decision for me to use my experience in mentoring and developing younger staff.
Here are just a few new missionaries that were sent out this past month:
Reggie to Rutgers
Nathan to the University of Iowa
David and the O’Keefes to Colorado State
Sage to Los Angeles
Caitlin to University of Minnesota
