Mark’s Expanding Role–Cincinnati Local Team Leader

It is with much humbleness that I have accepted the role as the Local Team Leader for Athletes in Action in the Cincinnati Area.  My responsibilities include trusting the Lord to raise up a team of staff, interns and volunteers to reach the campuses in Cincinnati, while maintaining my role as the campus director at Xavier.  Pictured above are some of those significant friends:  Grant, Jordan, Mackenzy and Amanda (not pictured are Nia and Pete).  I have really enjoyed networking with our Cru staff at the University of  Cincinnati and at Northern Kentucky University to enlist their help in reaching their athletes.  We are better and more effective at reaching young college students with the gospel because we are learning to work together.

Something new this fall is that I have been asked to lead a pre-game chapel before all the men’s home soccer games.  I cultivate relationships with them at the chapel and on the field, and then meet individually with them to share the grace and love and good news of Jesus Christ.  Here is one of the freshmen, Stephen, who I’ve been sharing the gospel with and who is currently being discipled by a sophomore from his team.  It has been great to see freshmen getting involved.
