Sergio sat down next to me

Mark on plane witness

Do you ever feel sometimes you are available to the Lord and other times, you say under your breath, “No, Lord, this is MY time?” Sometimes for Susie and me, we can be so passionate while on campus talking with college students, and then so selfish in other situations.

As I was traveling to Puerto Rico last month I was eagerly anticipating how the Lord was going to change so many lives this summer, little did I know that it was going to start on the plane flight! Here is a selfie with Sergio. He is a PR baseball player who is playing baseball for a college in Philadelphia. He just finished his freshman year and was returning to be with his family. As we spoke I had a chance to share the Gospel, and the Lord began to work and drew Sergio to Himself. He said that he had never heard this before and that his religion had been confusing to him.  Right there on the flight he surrendered his heart to Jesus. He asked me to keep helping the people of Puerto Rico.  It was a great “God moment” and it set the stage for an amazing two weeks of mission. Sergio said he was glad we were coming to the island to tell people about Jesus, and he further confirmed in my heart the strategic nature of reaching college students in Puerto Rico.  Rejoice and pray for Sergio.
